I feel myself most energetic when 100% what I am going to do for a day is up to myself, and the future is unknown. That may explain why I woke up earlier at weekends than in week days while I was still on a day job. A day job mandates certain routine duty to keep your mind focused. After some time of repetitive work cycle, my mind human mind gets bored when what one is doing is perceived as repetitive. I used to think this is MY own problem. But the more entrepreneurial cases I saw around me, the more I feel that I am not alone in this.

This also explains why a boss needs to push her employees with more (interesting) duty once the employee becomes used to the job she’s been doing. It’s not like “the boss is squeezing the last drop of energy out of employee” mentality held by many. Bosses/managers with entrepreneurial instinct and some insights into human nature all agree that it’s less about employee performance, but more about a fair/right way to keep the organization effective and productive in making stuff that people want, in a highly competitive world.
